Acti is a replacement keyboard for your phone with an AI layer built in.

You type as usual. When you want something done, you type what you want and long-press the space bar. Acti translates, rewrites, dictates, or sends the request to an app like Gmail, Notion, or Slack.

The AppSumo deal starts at $59. Acti Pro costs $9.99 a month on the App Store.

The verdict? Consider. Here is how it scores against the way we review deals.

TL;DR. Acti is live on AppSumo from $59 to $399, and every tier includes the Mac app. Tier 1 pays back in about six months against Acti Pro. The catch: credit costs are not published, the terms allow features to be dropped, and the vendor gives free lifetime codes away on Discord. Tier 1 only.

Acti is live as an AppSumo Launchpad deal at $59 for Tier 1, with a 60-day refund.

What does Acti actually do?

Acti is a keyboard app for iPhone and Android that supports 90+ languages. Its AI features run on reusable workflows it calls Acts.

Some Acts are simple: translate this, fix the grammar, make it shorter. Others call connected apps and APIs, so you can add a task to Notion or check a calendar slot without leaving the chat you are in. You build new Acts by describing them in plain language, and a community library holds 5,000+ ready-made ones.

Dictation is the other half. You speak, and Acti cleans up the text at the level you choose, from raw to fully rewritten. It also handles voice commands and voice translation.

Every tier includes the Mac app for macOS 14 and later. It adds dictation from the Fn key, Acts on selected text, a snippet expander, a clipboard manager, and the option to use your phone as the Mac's microphone. There is no Windows app yet.

The company is TypeX, based in Singapore. TechCrunch reported a $5.3 million seed led by BITKRAFT, and that founder Young Wang previously grew Baidu's Facemoji Keyboard.

Is the Acti lifetime deal active?

Yes, the AppSumo deal is live with no end date set.

It is an AppSumo Launchpad listing, AppSumo's label for early-stage products, and it opened on launch day with no reviews. Outside AppSumo, Acti has 4.3 from 39 ratings on the App Store.

The terms give lifetime access, all future plan updates, upgrades and downgrades between the four tiers, and a 60-day refund. You must activate within 60 days.

Acti has no pricing page on its website. On the App Store, Acti Pro costs $9.99 a month or $94.99 a year. Pro adds more credits, better models, and the Mac app.

Every AppSumo tier includes the Mac app, so the deal maps to Pro. Because there is only one paid plan, higher tiers buy more credits rather than a higher plan.

Tier 1 at $59 pays back in about six months against monthly Pro, or about seven and a half months against yearly.

Tier 2 at $109 takes about eleven months. Tier 3 at $199 takes about twenty. Tier 4 at $399 does not pay back inside three years at Pro pricing.

Acti does not publish Pro's credit allowance either, so nobody can say which tier matches Pro.

What is the honest catch?

There are three, and the first undercuts the deal itself.

Warning

The honest catch

Acti gives away free lifetime access. Its Acti Code page describes "Genesis Actier" accounts, handed out through Discord drops and campaigns, with unlimited AI subject to fair use on the highest model tier. AppSumo buyers pay $59 to $399 for capped monthly credits. Join the Discord before you buy.

The second is the terms. Acti's terms of service let it add, change, limit, or discontinue any feature at any time, and end access for "commercial non-viability". There is no lifetime clause in them. The AppSumo terms promise lifetime access, but the product underneath can still change.

The third is privacy. Acti is a third-party keyboard, and its AI features need Full Access on iOS. Acti says it does not record ordinary keystrokes, but AI requests go to its servers and to its AI providers. Think about what you type into banking and work apps before you make it your default keyboard.

The Ledger

Pros · Cons

Worth your wallet

  • Acts that reach Gmail, Notion, Slack, and other apps from any text field
  • AI dictation with adjustable cleanup, plus voice translation
  • Mac app on every tier, with phone-as-microphone and a clipboard manager
  • Tier 1 pays back in about six months against Acti Pro
  • Funded team whose founder grew a keyboard app at Baidu

Hold the cheque

  • Vendor gives free lifetime codes with fair-use AI on Discord
  • Credit cost per action and Pro's allowance are not published
  • Terms allow features to be dropped and access ended
  • iOS Full Access needed for AI features
  • No Windows app; Tier 4 never pays back against Pro

Who should buy Acti?

Buy it if you write a lot on your phone and want AI help without switching apps.

Good fits:

  • creators and marketers who reply to messages and comments all day
  • people who write in two or more languages
  • Mac users who want dictation on both phone and laptop
  • anyone who already pays for an AI keyboard or dictation app

Tier 1 at $59 is the only tier the maths supports.

Who should skip it?

Skip it if you mainly dictate on a computer. Amical is the dictation deal we rate a Buy, and it runs offline.

Skip it if you mainly want text shortcuts. Typedesk does snippets without an AI keyboard.

Skip it if you use Windows, or if a keyboard with Full Access makes you uneasy.

How does Acti compare to Wispr Flow and TextExpander?

Wispr Flow is the dictation tool most people compare against. It costs about $15 a month on monthly billing, and it is a dictation tool first rather than a keyboard.

TextExpander is the long-standing snippet tool, at $6 a month on monthly billing. It does not do AI actions on your phone.

Acti tries to be both, inside your phone's keyboard. That is a new idea, and the price reflects it. The Productivity shelf has the other writing and workflow tools we track.

Frequently Asked Questions

01Is the Acti lifetime deal still available?

Yes. Acti is live on AppSumo from $59 to $399 across four tiers, with a 60-day refund and no end date set.

02Does the Acti lifetime deal include the Mac app?

Yes. Every tier includes Acti Pro Desktop for macOS 14 and later. There is no Windows app yet.

03Do Acti credits roll over?

No. Credits reset each month with no rollover. Acti does not publish how many credits each action uses.

04Which Acti tier should I buy?

Tier 1 at $59. It pays back in about six months against Acti Pro at $9.99 a month. Higher tiers only add credits, and Tier 4 at $399 does not pay back within three years.

05What does Acti cost without the lifetime deal?

Acti Pro costs $9.99 a month or $94.99 a year as an in-app purchase. There is also a free plan with a daily AI credit allowance.

Is it worth buying?

Acti is a Consider.

The product is a fresh take on the phone keyboard, and the team behind it knows the category. Tier 1 at $59 covers the Mac app and pays for itself in about six months against the monthly plan.

But you are paying for credits nobody can measure yet, under terms that let features go, from a vendor that gives similar access away for free. Check the Discord for codes first. If you still want it, buy Tier 1 and use the 60-day window to see how fast the credits run out.
