StoryChief is a content-marketing workspace. You plan on a calendar, write in an SEO editor, send drafts for approval, and publish to your website and social channels from one place.

It is back on AppSumo for the first time since 2018.

The deal starts at $69 for one workspace. The vendor's cheapest plan costs $69 a month.

The verdict? Buy. Here is how it scores against the way we review deals.

TL;DR. StoryChief is live on AppSumo from $69 to $699 across four tiers. Tier 1 pays back in one month against the Starter plan. The catch: Tier 1 is a single user with half of Starter's AI credits, and the FAQ keeps new AI features for separate sale. Tier 2 at $179 is the buy.

StoryChief is live as an AppSumo Select deal at $69 for Tier 1, with a 60-day refund.

What does StoryChief actually do?

StoryChief puts the content workflow of a small marketing team in one place.

You plan posts and articles on a shared marketing calendar. You write blog posts in an SEO and GEO editor with an AI assistant trained on your brand voice. Drafts go to colleagues or clients for review and approval, including outside reviewers through a public link.

Once approved, the same piece publishes to your website (WordPress, Webflow, and other CMSs through plugins or the API) and to 30+ channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Mailchimp.

Around that sit social scheduling and analytics, a weekly SEO and content audit, "AI visibility" prompt tracking for how your brand shows up in AI answers, employee-advocacy broadcasts, and an MCP connection for ChatGPT and Claude.

Workspaces are separate brand or client environments. That is why the higher tiers are pitched at agencies.

The company is based in Ghent, Belgium, and was founded in 2017 by Valeri Potchekailov, Gregory Claeyssens, and Brik De Maeyer. It raised a €1.1 million seed in 2020 and a €3.4 million round in 2022.

Is the StoryChief lifetime deal active?

Yes, the AppSumo deal is live with no end date set.

It is an AppSumo Select listing, which means AppSumo picked it for quality and support rather than as an early-stage bet. The listing has no reviews yet because it opened on launch day, but StoryChief carries 4.7 from 129 reviews on Capterra and 4.6 from 32 on G2.

The terms give lifetime access, all future plan updates, upgrades and downgrades between the four tiers, and a 60-day refund. You must activate within 60 days.

The deal is for new customers only. StoryChief says it detects existing accounts and blocks them.

Every tier gets the calendar, approvals, unlimited social posts, social analytics, the SEO audit, the plagiarism check, project management, and API access.

That matters, because StoryChief's own Starter plan has no approvals, no content audit, no plagiarism check, and no API. Even Tier 1 sits above Starter on features.

It sits below Starter on two things: one user and 8,000 AI credits a month, against Starter's 15,000. Tier 2 fixes both.

StoryChief's pricing page sells Starter at $69, Growth at $339, and Scale at $539 a month on monthly billing. Billed yearly, they drop to $59, $279, and $449 a month. The Agency plan costs $97 a month per workspace.

Tier 1 at $69 matches a single month of Starter. Over three years, Starter costs $2,484.

Tier 2 at $179 gives two workspaces with five users each. Two Agency workspaces cost $194 a month, so Tier 2 pays back inside the first month too.

Tier 3 at $349 covers seven workspaces. Seven Agency workspaces cost $679 a month. The comparison is not exact, because Agency workspaces carry unlimited users and articles, but the gap is wide enough that it does not change the answer.

What is the honest catch?

There are three, and the first is in the FAQ.

Warning

The honest catch

"All future plan updates" has a carve-out. The AppSumo FAQ says future premium features, new AI capabilities, and usage-based services may be offered separately. Image and video generation are already a paid add-on, and their credits do not renew. Buy this for the content workflow it has today, not for AI features it might add.

The second is Tier 1's size. One workspace, one user, and 8,000 AI credits is a solo blogger's plan. If anyone else needs to approve or edit your work, you need Tier 2.

The third is no reviews on this run. The off-AppSumo ratings are strong, and the 2018 AppSumo FAQ says StoryChief later added the API, unlimited social posts, the AI assistant, and MCP to those old plans. That is a good record. But nobody has written about the 2026 deal yet, and the AI credit limits are the part buyers will test first.

The Ledger

Pros · Cons

Worth your wallet

  • Founded in 2017, funded, and rated 4.7 on Capterra across 129 reviews
  • Kept its 2018 AppSumo buyers supported and added features to their plans
  • Every tier pays back in about a month at monthly billing
  • Approvals, content audit, plagiarism check, and API on every tier
  • Publishes to WordPress, Webflow, and 30+ social channels from one editor
  • AppSumo Select listing with a 60-day refund

Hold the cheque

  • Tier 1 is one user with 8,000 AI credits, half of Starter's
  • FAQ reserves new AI features and usage-based services for separate sale
  • Image and video generation are a paid add-on
  • New customers only; existing accounts are blocked
  • No reviews on this run yet

Who should buy StoryChief?

Buy it if you publish regularly and want planning, writing, approvals, and distribution in one tool.

Good fits:

  • small marketing teams that need a review step before anything goes live
  • agencies running content for several clients, on Tier 3
  • founders and consultants who publish a weekly blog and share it across LinkedIn and a newsletter
  • teams paying for a separate calendar tool plus a social scheduler

Tier 2 at $179 is the sensible starting point. It adds five users, a second workspace, and Starter-level AI credits.

Who should skip it?

Skip it if you mostly need social scheduling. A dedicated scheduler like SocialBu does that for less, and StoryChief's strength is the blog-to-social workflow.

Skip it if you want heavy AI generation. The credits are capped, image and video cost extra, and new AI features may be sold separately.

Skip it if you are an existing StoryChief customer. You cannot use the deal.

How does StoryChief compare to CoSchedule and Planable?

CoSchedule is the closest match on the marketing calendar. It is a US subscription product, and its calendar plans are priced per user or per team every month.

Planable is stronger on social approvals and agency workspaces, starting from about $33 per workspace. It does not have StoryChief's SEO editor or website publishing.

StoryChief sits between them. It has the calendar and approvals of both, plus an SEO writing editor and CMS publishing, for a one-time price. On this desk, Ocoya is the AI-first content and social tool we have reviewed, and SEOcrawl covers the search-performance side StoryChief does not.

Frequently Asked Questions

01Is the StoryChief lifetime deal still available?

Yes. StoryChief is live on AppSumo from $69 to $699 across four tiers, with a 60-day refund and no end date set. It is the first AppSumo run since 2018.

02Can existing StoryChief customers buy the lifetime deal?

No. The deal is for new customers only, and StoryChief says it automatically detects and blocks existing accounts.

03Does the StoryChief lifetime deal include future AI features?

Not necessarily. Updates to the included features are covered, but the FAQ says future premium features, new AI capabilities, and usage-based services may be sold separately. Image and video generation are already a paid add-on.

04Which StoryChief tier should I buy?

Tier 2 at $179 for most teams. It covers 2 workspaces, 5 users per workspace, 50 articles a month, and 15,000 AI credits. Tier 1 is limited to one user and 8,000 credits.

05What does StoryChief cost without the lifetime deal?

Starter is $69 a month, Growth is $339, and Scale is $539 on monthly billing, or $59, $279, and $449 a month billed yearly. Agency costs $97 a month per workspace.

Is it worth buying?

StoryChief is a Buy.

It is an established product from a funded company with a long record of looking after lifetime buyers. At monthly rates, any tier pays for itself in about a month, and every tier includes workflow features the vendor's own Starter plan leaves out.

Read the AI carve-out before you pay, and do not buy Tier 1 if anyone else needs a login. Tier 2 at $179 is the right buy for most teams. The Marketing shelf has the other content and publishing tools we track.
