AIWriteBook is a browser studio that takes a book from a details form to a finished EPUB, with AI writing the chapters in between.

The pipeline is real. Outline, characters, chapters, cover, illustrations, KDP metadata, export. Two engineers in London built it as an internal tool for their reading app and opened it up at the end of 2025.

What does AIWriteBook actually do?

AIWriteBook is an AI book-writing studio that runs in the browser.

You fill in a details form, build characters if it is fiction, and get an editable chapter outline. The AI then writes each chapter using Gemini, Grok, or Claude, in a writing style it trains from a sample you give it.

From there you edit inline or through a chat assistant, generate a cover and illustrations, run a grammar pass, and export to EPUB, PDF, DOCX, or a print-ready file with KDP metadata and keywords filled in.

Higher tiers add an audiobook studio on ElevenLabs voices, translation into 30-plus languages, visual books for children's and colouring titles, a series manager, an author landing page with an email gate, and distribution to the founders' own NanoReads reading app.

There are also around forty standalone author tools: a niche finder, a competition analyser, a trend spotter, an AI detector, and a humaniser. Keep those in mind for the catch section.

The vendor sells Plus at $12 a month billed yearly for 1,000 credits, Pro at $30 a month billed yearly for 5,000 credits, and Ultra at $120 a month billed yearly for 25,000 credits. Monthly billing exists but the price is not printed on the page.

Is the AIWriteBook lifetime deal active?

Yes, the AppSumo deal is live, and it has an end date. General access closes on 2 December 2026.

The buy box shows License Tier 1 at $79 against a $144 anchor. The listing carries 141 reviews, a 4.7 rating, and 1,283 purchases. It sits in AppSumo's Launchpad programme, which is the badge for products under a year old.

The deal terms give lifetime access, all future Plus updates on Tier 1 and Pro updates on Tiers 2 to 4, activation within 60 days, upgrades while the deal is live, downgrades within 60 days, and the now-standard line that future AI models may cost extra or be discounted.

Refunds run for 60 days.

What does the AIWriteBook deal include?

The tier that changes the economics is Tier 3. Bring-your-own-key drops every action to a flat one credit, so 2,500 credits becomes 2,500 actions instead of roughly 100 chapters. If you write a lot, that is the tier to price.

One licence binds to one account for good. There are no team seats on any tier.

How fast do the credits go?

This is the number to understand before buying.

AppSumo's FAQ prices a full chapter at 15 credits on Gemini, 20 on Grok, and 30 on Claude. An outline costs 3 per chapter. A chat edit costs 5. An illustration is 15, a cover is 30, and a set of citations is 30 even on the bring-your-own-key tiers.

So a 20-chapter non-fiction book on Gemini is 60 credits of outline plus 300 credits of chapters plus a cover, call it 390 credits before a single edit. On Claude it is 690.

Tier 1 gives 500 a month. That is one short Gemini book, or two-thirds of a Claude book, per month, with nothing left for revisions.

The vendor's own Plus plan, which the terms map Tier 1 to, gives 1,000 credits a month. The LTD tier carries half the allowance of the plan it is named after.

How do the maths work out?

The $12 in the table is the Plus plan's yearly price divided by twelve, because the vendor does not print a monthly figure. Tier 1 pays back in seven months against that and saves $353 over three years.

Tier 2 at $159 against Pro's $360 a year pays back in six months. Tier 3 at $319 against the same Pro plan pays back in eleven.

The sums work. The catch is that you are comparing credit allowances that do not match: Tier 2's 1,000 credits against Pro's 5,000. Payback on price is quick, but you are buying a fifth of the plan.

What is the honest catch?

There are three, and they compound.

The second catch is the author tools. A Tier 3 buyer reported that the Competition Analyzer, Niche Finder, and Trend Spotter return competitor titles, ranks, and prices that do not exist. The co-founder's reply was direct: the labels promise a lookup the tool never performs. Those tools are decoration until that is fixed.

The third is accuracy. A refunded buyer wrote three non-fiction books and found many factual errors and repetitive AI phrasing. The co-founder confirmed the model has no web access and does no fact-checking. For fiction that is a shrug. For a finance or health title it is a liability with your name on the cover.

Smaller things from the reviews: chapters overshoot their word target, a DOCX import silently dropped an introduction and a medical disclaimer, fake acknowledgements and an author bio are switched on by default, and PDF export was cropping cover images at the time of writing.

Who should buy AIWriteBook?

Buy Tier 1 if you write fiction or light non-fiction in volume and want the export chain done for you.

Good fits:

If you already sell on KDP and know your niche, the cover studio and metadata tools alone justify $79.

Who should skip it?

Skip it if you write non-fiction that has to be right. Medical, legal, finance, history. The tool will write confidently and wrongly, and the review section already has a refund for exactly that.

Skip it if you were buying for the market research tools. They do not do what their labels say.

And skip it if you need collaboration. One account, one licence, no seats.

How does AIWriteBook compare to Scrivener and plain Claude?

Scrivener is a writing environment. It organises your manuscript and compiles it, and you write every word. It costs $59 once and never lies to you.

Plain Claude or ChatGPT will draft chapters as well as AIWriteBook does, because AIWriteBook is calling the same models. What you lose is the outline structure, the style training, the cover studio, and the one-click EPUB and KDP export.

AIWriteBook earns its price on the packaging, not the prose. If you are happy pasting chapters into Vellum or Atticus yourself, you do not need it.
